# Sync and Sense

> Privacy-first smart home integration in New York City, northern New Jersey, Phuket, and across Southern Thailand. One company, one approach, two places.

Sync and Sense designs, configures, and looks after smart home systems. Lighting, climate, motorized shades, audio, security, energy monitoring, and networking are brought together on one control panel that runs on a small open-source Home Assistant server inside the client's home. Based in Brooklyn, New York and Phuket, Thailand.

- Foundation: Home Assistant (open source, runs locally, no vendor lock-in). Every client gets a dedicated in-house server.
- Networking: specializes in commercial-grade Ubiquiti UniFi Wi-Fi; also works with TP-Link Omada, MikroTik, or existing equipment.
- Process: free discovery, then a flat planning fee (the written plan is the client's to keep), a fixed implementation fee set by scope, and a monthly care plan billed annually.
- Pro bono: projects for charitable organizations and people in need, on request.

- Pricing: free discovery; flat $500 planning fee for any size of job (the written plan is the client's to keep and use with anyone; the client shares floor plans, blueprints, and elevations to the best of their ability, and the plan is based on them); fixed implementation fee (set by scope) for all software integration and customization; $59 a month (billed annually) for ongoing care including maintenance, updates, backups, and unlimited changes and revisions. Equipment can be bought through Sync and Sense (licensed, authorized dealer for many brands) or from any retailer; installing contractors are paid directly by the client.
